Tattoo Aftercare
Proper aftercare is essential to ensure your tattoo heals properly and stays vibrant for years to come.
Healing times vary depending on the size, placement, and complexity of your tattoo. While many tattoos appear healed within a few weeks, complete healing beneath the skin can take several months.
If Your Tattoo Was Covered with a Derm Bandage
Leave the Bandage On
Keep the derm bandage in place for 24 hours to 4 days, or as directed by your artist.
It is normal to see a mixture of ink, blood, and plasma collect beneath the bandage during this time.
If the bandage begins leaking, loses its seal, or you experience irritation, excessive redness, itching, or signs of an allergic reaction, remove it immediately and follow the washing and moisturizing instructions below.
Showering
You may shower with the bandage on.
Avoid:
Scrubbing the area
Prolonged exposure to water
Baths
Swimming pools
Hot tubs
Oceans, lakes, or rivers
Removing the Bandage
Remove the bandage under warm running water or in the shower.
Starting at an edge, gently pull the bandage away from the tattoo while stretching the bandage parallel to the skin. This allows the adhesive to release gradually rather than pulling directly upward on the healing tattoo.
Remove slowly and carefully. If the bandage feels stuck, continue allowing warm water to run over it until it loosens naturally.
Once removed, wash the tattoo with lukewarm water and a mild, fragrance-free soap, then pat dry with a clean paper towel before applying a thin layer of moisturizer.
Washing Your Tattoo
Wash your hands thoroughly before touching your tattoo.
Gently cleanse the tattoo using lukewarm water and a mild, fragrance-free soap.
Use only your fingertips.
Rinse thoroughly.
Pat dry with a clean paper towel.
Do not scrub the tattoo or use washcloths, loofahs, or sponges.
Wash your tattoo 1–2 times daily during the initial healing period.
Moisturizing
After washing and drying the tattoo, apply a thin layer of a fragrance-free moisturizer.
A small amount goes a long way. Over-moisturizing can trap excess moisture and slow healing.
Continue moisturizing as needed to prevent excessive dryness and itching.
Protect Your Healing Tattoo
During the healing process, avoid:
Direct sun exposure
Swimming or soaking the tattoo
Tight or restrictive clothing
Excessive friction
Picking, scratching, or peeling flaking skin
Exercise
Light activity is generally fine, but avoid activities that cause excessive sweating, stretching, or friction over the tattooed area during the first few weeks.
Always clean the tattoo after exercise if sweat accumulates on the area.
What to Expect During Healing
Normal healing may include:
Mild redness
Tenderness
Dryness
Itching
Flaking or peeling skin
These are normal parts of the healing process.
When to Seek Medical Attention
Contact your artist or a healthcare professional if you experience:
Excessive swelling
Severe or worsening pain
Thick yellow or green discharge
Spreading redness
Fever
Signs of an allergic reaction
Long-Term Care
Once your tattoo is fully healed, regular moisturizing and daily sunscreen use will help protect your tattoo from fading and keep it looking its best.

The basic necessities are enough space to park and set up and a power source nearby. The space requirement is around 21 feet by 10 feet. This doesn’t include the space requirement for accessibility. For instance, having enough room to pull in and get out. Examples of space set ups are private and public properties with a good amount of space or driveways, curbs, parking lots, parks, alleyways, etc. If you are unsure we are more than happy to figure it out with you. Also, if there is no access to power, we can provide a generator for a flat fee.

Most clients describe the discomfort as very manageable. We use topical numbing throughout the procedure to help keep you comfortable. Lots of people end up taking a nap believe it or not! Our top priority is making sure you’re comfortable the entire time.
-
Results vary depending on skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare, but most permanent makeup lasts between 1–3 years before needing a refresh.
-
There is minimal downtime, but clients should expect some healing, dryness, and slight color changes during the healing process. Your artist will let you know what to expect and give you aftercare instructions to help make the healing process easier.
